I had just returned to buying new books in the summer of 2011 and an employee at my LCS in San Jose recommended The Walking Dead. I bought the first tpb and was hooked. I quickly bought the remaining tpbs and asked that same employee to recommend another title. He suggested Invincible and I did the same with this title. I went back to this employee again for another recommendation and he mentioned Saga. At the time #1 had already been released and there were none on the shelf. The employee thought he might have one in the back and came back with this. Thus, my CGC Saga obsession began...
