Mackenzies Raiders was a short lived TV series in 1958-59, airing a total of just 39 episodes. Westerns were the rage, so I guess they tried anything. Wikipedia provides additional detail on the show itself:

Mackenzie's Raiders is an American Western television series starring Richard Carlson that aired thirty-nine episodes in syndication from 1958 to 1959. The series was narrated by Art Gilmore.

Synopsis
Carlson played Colonel Ranald S. Mackenzie, commander of the 4th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Clark near Brackettville in Kinney County in southwest Texas, during the 1870s. The real Mackenzie was a nephew of Confederate States of America diplomat John Slidell and the brother of Union Navy Lieutenant Commander Alexander Slidell MacKenzie.
In the series story line, Colonel Mackenzie receives secret orders from U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant and General Phil Sheridan to stop Mexican bandits from crossing the Rio Grande into the United States or from returning to Mexico. The show continued as Mackenzie and his raiders ride deep into Mexican territory, but the Raiders also fought gunfighters and renegade Indians. The series lasted for a single season.
