Top Cow briefly experimented with a reprint series, re-issuing its best-selling books with new black-and-white covers. In addition to Midnight Nation, titles receiving this treatment were: Aphrodite IX, Ascension, Battle of the Planets, Darkness, Fathom, Magdalena, Rising Stars, Tomb Raider, and Witchblade (which had both #1 and #25 reprinted this way).
The experiment was not, shall we say, particularly successful. Comichron lists 4,067 orders for this reprint edition, placed in February 2001 -- not all that different from the 3000 copy limited edition!
