Issue #117 has become one of the major keys of the late Silver Age with its introduction of Sam Wilson/The Falcon, who is now Captain America in both Marvel's comic book universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This introduction of the Falcon was a historic moment in comic book history as he was the first African-American superhero (Black Panther was earlier, but he was not an American). Our 9.8 is one of only 13 ever assigned the top grade for this major key. We acquired the book from the 9/14/2023 Heritage Auction. It graced the cover of their Signature Auction for that quarter so I was not expecting to get it. But, for whatever reason, this one still fell through the cracks and we grabbed it at about half the price of the last 9.8 on Heritage.
