"Arms of the Octopus"

Following up on a tip from one of his informants, Daredevil makes a stop at Josie's bar. He confirms that a shipment of adamantium has been stolen from Pittsburgh and is being smuggled into New York - to Glenn Industries. He stops by their midtown offices where a late-night board meeting is being conducted by Mr. Tubbs.

Tubbs indicates to the other board members that they are nearly bankrupt, but has an anonymous client that will help them remain in business for the time being. Heather Glenn arrives, demanding to know why she was not informed of this meeting. Tubbs tries to downplay it, but is challenged by the timely arrival of Daredevil. He tries to warn Heather that she's being used, but Heather still blames him for her father's death and has a minor breakdown. Daredevil has little choice but to leave.

The next morning a much calmer Heather reviews her companies' records and discovers Matt was right. Before she can do anything about it, she is kidnapped. While performing independent research on the same problem, Matt receives a call indicating that Heather is missing. When Black Widow offers to help him, he refuses. When she asks why, he won't answer. She quickly understands that he's still in love with Heather. Daredevil makes his way to the New Jersey wharf where he discovers three things: the shipment of adamantium, a small gang intent on stealing the shipment, and Dr. Octopus. Ock informs them that the shipment is his and renders the gang unconscious. He then holds Daredevil underwater for several minutes, until he is presumed dead, and releases him. Daredevil is quickly found by the police and pulled out of the river. Despite his near-death experience, Daredevil begins his search for Octopus. Octopus has made his way to Glenn Industries' R & D facility in Sutton, New Jersey. His arrangement with Tubbs involves using their resources to create a set of adamantium arms. He explains to his audience how he cheated death during his last encounter with Spider-Man. Afterwards he realized that it was time to build a stronger set of arms and set out to do so.
At this point Daredevil arrives and attacks Dr. Octopus directly, ultimately defeating him. His mechanical arms carry him away as Daredevil frees Heather. Once Octopus leaves, they admit that they still have feelings for each other. Neither are aware that they are being watched by the Black Widow, who secretly followed Matt. She realizes that there is no place for her in Matt's life and returns to Russia.
