47, 48, and 49 were an amazing build up to this double sized issue. 35 issues ago Illyana Rasputin graced the cover. In this issue she is on the cover again, but this time not as Limbo's mistress, but as an outcast. She fled from S'Ym and somehow teleported across the cosmos.
On page 11 Magik regals the story of what happened to the X-Men and the Morlocks. This is why Comic books continued on into the hundreds and didn't start over and over again at #1.
This issue brings Professor Xavier back into the mutant universe. they travel across time and space bringing back her lost teammates. Then in the middle of the book was the biggest splash page I could ever remember. Magus. Warlock's story was coming to fruition. And by the end of the book, Warlock is fatherless for a few pages. Because this alien teen requests the founder of the X-Men to be his father, if not in form, then in his heart, soul and spirit.
It is this issue that I applaud Chris Claremont. After this issue, Chris begins to bow out and Louise will take over. Those thirty five issues formatted my addiction to comic book collecting. And if you read this far...as I end my journals. Thank you for Reading.
