I purchased this one as a 9.8 signature series. Rob Liefeld already placed his scrawl across it and once again Wolverine was on the cover. The demise of the New Mutants was quickly approaching. Cable looks as big as the Hulk. Major changes were coming and death would claim another New Mutant in the following issue, but Marvel need its hit now. Rob Liefeld was probably in talks with Marvel about a new direction. Louise Simonson was about to lose her babies, her unofficial motherdom of the team was never noted. I asked her about her input with the creation of the team and she said any of the Good Ideas were Chris's and any bad ideas I had were left behind.
