Owner's Description

What a gem this book is! The #145 Nabisco Variant Cover is one of those books that only comes along on "rare" occasions-especially at this grade! However, I was fortunate enough to connect with the previous owner, Mr. Luis Velasco, on eBay and make a deal with him. After several offers, we finally arrived to a happy medium and I want to thank Luis for selling me his most prized & cherished comic! It is an honor to become the new owner of this beauty!

According to the CGC Census Report, as of 6/8/2012, there are zero (0) copies graded as either a 10.0 or a 9.9. Further, there are a total of forty-five (45) copies graded as a Universal 9.8 and only eleven (11) copies (including my copy) graded as a Signature Series 9.8, which makes this book the highest graded!

Based on the statistics above, this isn't as rare as the Wolverine #1 CGC SS 9.9 that is registered in this set. However, it is extremely unique because Bill Sienkiewicz, the cover artist for this book, drew an original sketch of Wolverine on the front cover along with writing his signature on February 6, 2009! On this same date, Leinil Francis Yu and Dexter Vines, the ones responsible for the artwork inside the book, placed their signatures on the front cover along with Bill's signature! Now that is special; and for that alone raises the value of this particular copy of the #145 Nabisco Variant Cover!

On the back cover, written directly on the plastic CGC encapsulation case in blue sharpie marker, Todd McFarlane, Stan Lee & Larry Hama added their signatures at the 2011 Phoenix Comic Con! In addition, at the same convention, Mark Texeira drew a small head sketch of Wolverine and added his signature in silver ink!

This one is a "keeper" for sure!
