Owner's Description

Red Seal Comics #16 is referenced in the “Seduction of the Innocent” (SOTI) as illustration #9 and also in the text on page 181. Illustration #9 depicts a panel from Red Seal Comics #16 where two thugs are draining the blood from a woman as a means to keep her quiet. The SOTI caption under this illustration is “Outside the forbidden pages of de Sade, you find draining a girl’s blood only in children’s comics”. Wertham also mentions the blood draining panel in the text on page 181 where he describes it as a “morbid fantasy”. In addition to Red Seal Comics #16, the blood draining story is reprinted in Authentic Police Cases #3. It’s unclear which comic book Wertham was referring to so both titles are listed as SOTI books.
