NOTES OF INTEREST: This issue marks the first appearance of the Redeemer (II). This issue also marks the first appearance of Spawn's second costume, which features the boot and gauntlet. Readers will also find the first mention of Necroplasm - a key component of Spawn's power.

ISSUE SYNOPSIS: - The Homecomming

Spawn finally returns to New York to reclaim his throne in the streets, only to learn of the reinstitution of the Redeemer program ran by Heaven. The new recruit is of purer heart than Jason Wynn, thereby making him even more powerful than the last Anti-Spawn. As a result of the Redeemer’s immense power, Spawn is easily defeated as his ravaged armor temporarily shuts down from the damage. The victorious Redeemer grabs Bobby, the bum that Spawn brought back to life, and teleports far away.
