NOTES OF INTEREST: There were multiple covers for this issue drawn by a variety of artists: Todd McFarlane, Greg Capullo, Jim Lee, and Phillip Tan. There was also a black and white sketch incentive with a cover by Todd McFarlane and a back cover by Jim Lee. This particular comic is an example of the McFarlane Variant. ISSUE SYNOPSIS: - Thamuz Storyline (part 1 of 4)

Spawn returns to the Deadzone where he is confronted by the Disciple – the greatest warrior in Heaven. Spawn is quickly dismembered by his foe and the pieces of his body are soon gathered by two parties – demons hired by Mammon and the mysterious Man of Miracles. Each portion of Spawn’s body begins a separate journey as Thamuz, the Grand Inquisitor, swears to uncover Spawn’s deepest secret. Meanwhile, the fate of humanity is placed in the hands of a thirteen-year-old boy.
