Owner's Description

"Too Many Mutants!" In the aftermath of the X-Tinction Agenda the 3 X-Teams, X-Men, X-Factor and the New Mutants stand in the War Room of the Xavier Institute discussing what they should do about the villainous forces that are located around the globe. Cable believes that the X-Men should strike hard and fast against them, however Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm have reservations. They have a heated discussion and Cable says that he he should lead the X-Men teams, as he is the best equipped for the job. Cable tells them that if they don’t do something now then more of their friends will be killed like Cypher and Warlock. As he leaves he meets up with Boom-Boom who is waiting outside the bathroom desperate to get inside. Cable bangs on the door; Bobby (Iceman) opens and apologizes for the delay. Boom-Boom runs in only to find it completely frozen.

Back in the War Room Cyclops believes that Cable has a serious attitude problem, and thinks the teams should move into the X-Factor ship which has more space, however Storm disagrees as she feels it would be acting like Magneto by separating from humanity. At this point Jean mentions the recent attacks by Magneto on the Avengers (as featured in the Acts of Vengeance storyline). Storm believes that times have changed and that they are unfit to look after Xavier’s Dream and the baton should be passed on.

Elsewhere Banshee receives a holographic comlink call from Moira mactaggert on Muir Island. Banshee notices that she doesn’t seem to be her normal refrained self. Beast enters room to tell him he is needed in the Danger Room, and comments on the same fact, at which Banshee flies off looking upset. Beast then enters the medical lab where Forge is trying to reverse the mutate process that was used on Wolfsbane during the recent visit to Genosha (see X-tinction Agenda crossover). Forge reveals that he may be unable to break the process if he doesn’t find a cure fast. Banshee arrives at the Danger Room to see
Archangel defeat Cannonball in a training session.
Outside Storm contemplates on what to do next before being interrupted by Gambit, who thinks that they should leave for pastures new. Storm is unsure but disagrees with Gambit, who tells her that she should grow up and make a decision. Boom-Boom chases Iceman through the ladies quarters before they bump into Jean Grey and Psylocke, Boom-Boom sneakily drops one of her bombs into Iceman’s pants before they are sent out of the room. Jean asks Psylocke if she has spoken to her brother, Captain Britian, recently and whether the Hand altered more than just Psylocke’s physical appearance.

In the Danger Room Wolverine fights Gambit as Jubilee overlooks; Jubilee comments on wolverine pushing himself too hard since he is not back at full strength yet. Obviously Logan shows more concern for Storm and the company she is in than for himself. Gambit wins the fight by attacking wolverine with a simulation of his old foe Lady Deathstrike and then taking him by surprise.

Jean uses cerebro to try and find the missing x-men Rogue, Dazzler and Longshot, as she goes to use the device she remembers when Professor Xavier first showed the machine to her. Whilst in the astral plane she encounters the Shadow King who attacks her. Before he can destroy her, Psylocke arrives in the astral plane and uses her psychic knife on jean to free her from the astral plane. As a side-effect Jean’s short-term memory is scrambled and she can’t remember who her attacker was.

Storm tells Jean and Scott that she has come to a decision. She will let the X-Men vote if they want to continue as a separate group, join Cable or X-Factor at their ship. Suddenly a car speeds into the institute grounds. Lila Cheney and her bodyguard Guido jump out and inform the X-Men that Professor X is in trouble, and without hesitating Lila teleports them away as Jean and Scott look on helplessly.
