Jay Ward's Rocky & Bullwinkle started life in the fall of 1959 on ABC as "Rocky and his Friends." In 1961 it moved to NBC in 1961 and was renamed "The Bullwinkle Show." It returned ABC for one final season in 1964, and continues on until today in reruns.<br /><br />The first comics of this duo were called "Rocky & his Friends, published as Four Color #1128 in the fall of 1960. This was followed by a couple of other issues with the same title. Later titles in the early 1960s includes "Rocky and his Fiendish Friends" and "Bullwinkle and Rocky"<br /><br />This is the first of two Rocky and Bullwinkle Kite Fun Books. This book was prepared in late 1962 for distribution to schools in the spring of 1963. One of the copies from Random House files was sold with a 12/20/1962 library stamp, allowing use to identify this as the early of the two copyright 1963 Kite Fun Books. The other, Top Cat, was prepared in late 1963 for a spring, 1964 release. Don Christensen and Kellog Adams are noted as associated with the production of this book.<br /><br />Currently, five utility variants have been identified: Pacific Gas and Electric, Southern California Edison, Florida Power and Light, Public Service Company of Colorado, and copies with a blank indicia box. (There are no graded copies from SCE, yet)<br /><br />This copy from Pacific Gas and Electric is graded CGC 9.4 Near Mint with White to Off White Pages.
