Here it is #2. #2's almost always seems to solidify a title. It meant to me that it was good enough to get past number one. Of course at that age I was I didn't realize it took more than just one issue to hint at a title’s demise, in this case it took 100 issues. Cannonball, Mirage(then Psyche), Wolfspane, Sunspot, and Karma were still learning what it was like to be a team and would not yet have a new member join their ranks (issue #8…as was the case for Magma, which they didn’t have for a few more issues anyway) or lose one (issue #6 in the case of Karma which rejoined way later in the thirties after the Shadow King had his way with her.) I loved that the team hung out at malls (much like Wolverine and a selected few would hang out at a bar) and they were regular teens just wanting to have fun, hence a slumber party 19 issues later.
This issue is another step closer in my quest to have all these issues. This is not a Golden State copy as a larger quantity of my New Mutants collection seems to be. At this point I feel it will be more and more difficult to get these, but I must question isn’t that the fun of collecting?
