Using the Registry — A Step-by-Step Guide
To add comics to the Registry, start by building a set.
Step 1
Log in. If you are not already a member, click "Interested in Joining?" at left and choose a paid or free membership. Completing the process takes about 3 minutes.
Step 2
Once you’ve logged in, you will be navigated to your "Control Panel." From the My Registry Link, select "Comic Set Manager."
Step 3
Using the Comic Set Manager, select Category from the drop-down box that contains the type of set you’d like to make, and click the "Add" button. (There is no charge to add comics to the Registry.)
Step 4
Select Set Type from the drop-down menu.
Step 5
You will be brought to the "Edit Set" screen, where you will then enter a unique set name and share something about your collection in the set description. If you do not want people to see what comics you have in your set, click "obscure set." Click "Save" and continue on to add comics to the set.
Step 6
Enter your certification numbers* and add details about each comic in the Description field. If you’ve never registered comics in the past, then you can add your comics simply by typing the certification numbers into the "Switch to Cert #" box and saving the set. You can add a description of each comic as well in the field next to it. If you have registered comics in the past, you may want to either Autobuild your set to automatically pick the best available comics, or click the search button to choose an already-registered comic for each slot.
*See below for details.
Step 7
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save." Your comics have been added to the Registry.
Enjoy the community! Compare your set to others in your category and type, enrich your presence with images of your comic books, share your personal journals and more. It’s that easy!
*The certification number is a string of numbers found on the label.
The CGC certification number consists of 10 digits. Example: 0123456789. When submitting CGC books for the Registry, please provide the complete number.
