I began collecting in the 1960's at the age of 9 with a small accumulation of Indian Head Cents. Other family members who were part time dealers, were more than willing to recruit my services at bourse tables and conventions in the midwest; when I was 12 years old. Coin show attendance developed a sound education for me in the dynamics of selling, and also in coin market cycles. My interest in numismatics was re-discovered as an adult. This was due to a number of aspects that were not available to us in the past. The internet was a very useful tool to in essence cover a much larger region of dealers and coins available. Additionally the concept of slabbing, population data, and the availability of more sophisticated coins has lead to greater potential for me to collect, and also reap financial rewards when I have sold. I am delighted to be involved in current day numismatics.
