S & RB's Bio
I've been a collector ever since my grandfather showed me coins he picked up along the way from the beaches of Normandy to somewhere near Prague at the war's end. It's been a passion ever since.

But interests change and for the past few years I have been specializing in ancients. I like the US coins I have but I rarely add to this part of my collection. I can actually thank the grading services for playing a small part in my decision to turn away from US coins. The idea that anyone can consistently grade a mint state coin and put it into the same exact place on an 11 point MS scale is laughable, even if the standards were not a moving target. Now there are plus grades. Ridiculous! US coins are still interesting, but the plastic around them is not one of the reasons. Though I do admit I love NGC holders for the physical protection they provide, a sanity check on the coin's authenticity, and their presentation.

I will keep this collection posted for a bit longer, then I will be taking it down.
