Hiya!
My fascination with comics began in the early 1980s when I saw a friend's copy of X-Men #140. I had read some Batman and Superman (as well as some Gold Key and Harvey kid books) but I was was immediately struck by John Byrne's art style and drawn even deeper in by the characters.
I collected as many X-Men back issues as my meager allowance would allow and kept up with my purchases, eventually expanding my horizons into other Marvel titles: Fantastic Four, Alpha Flight, Spider-man, Daredevil.
Eventually, I went to college and the demands of adult life pushed comics to the wayside, though occasionally a title would catch my eye.
Fast forward thirty years and after MS put me on disability, I found comics again. I'm working on my Byrne sets most of all.
