Comicdey's Bio
I've been a collector of comics since around 1974 when my father would bring home confiscated comics from school where he was the principal. I still have my well loved Strange Tales 178 and Warlock 6 and I recently found what I believe to be one of my first comic book collection lists secured away in a box at my parents with my "Dynamite" collection :-) This list states.....
49 Richie Rich
4 Warlock
5 Superman
Hot Stuff
1 The legion of Monsters
(pretty sure it was MP28)
38 Scary Ones
Casper
I'm pretty sure one of those warlocks was the 9 I purchased off the stands as well. Wish I could recall what the fourth one was....
So in March of 1976 or so, I had amassed a total of 97 comics. I probably had more laying under the bed, but my list is a good indicator. So 40 years later, with a collection of over 30,000 raw comics and a handful of slabs as this registry attests, I've been buying comics at an average rate of 750 comics/year. Since I've sold some too, the buying rate is probably a bit higher.
I've been collecting loving the hobby for a long time. I hope everyone else can get the same pleasure out of it that I have as the artwork, the stories, and the history is a great way to bring back memories.
Cheers.....
