Paradise Dan's Bio
I started collecting comics in the early 80's. Growing up in a small, rural community in Ontario, Canada it was often difficult to find a place to buy the books I wanted. Most of my early comics were purchased at gas stations and convenience stores whenever I had the opportunity and cash to buy them. As a result, many of my comics are Canadian Newsstand Price Variants and most of them are in great condition. Eventually I got tired of missing out on issues because I didn't get to the "spinny-rack" on time, so I started subscribing. One of my fondest memories of childhood is getting off the school bus and running to the mailbox to see if I got a new comic. I always cherished my comics (especially Spider-Man) because I had to work hard on the farm to earn money to buy them, so over the years I have kept them in as good condition as possible. I stopped actively collecting comics in the late 90's when family responsibilities became more of a priority. Recently however, I have rediscovered my collection and am greatly enjoying getting reacquainted with my old friends that have been stashed away in boxes for years. I am gradually selecting issues to send to CGC for grading in an effort to preserve my key issues and favorites. I'm looking forward to getting my books graded and being a part of the CGC community. 'Nuff Said.
