mysterio's Bio
I've been collecting comics for nearly 30 years now (I'm currently 40) and my main focus is Spider-man. I am working towards collecting every single Spidey appearance from AF #15 up to the point where Marvel rebooted all his titles in 1998 (I refuse to collect anything later than that on general principle). I also collect pre-hero Marvels, and a few other titles like Iron Man, Tales of Suspense/to Astonish and the Avengers. I am generally only picking up CGC books in the titles I collect when I can either (A) get a good value for the grade, or (B) it is a pricey book and I want to protect my investment. I typically buy in the 8.5-9.2 range for most Silver Age as that range provides the best value for a really nice looking book. In my eyes there isn't enough visible difference between a 9.2 or a 9.4-9.6 to warrant the huge price increases associated with those higher grades. I prefer to buy 2-3 nice looking 9.2 books instead of a single 9.4 or 9.6 in most cases. My only exception to this is in titles where the higher grades are still reasonable in my opinion. Of course, it always makes sense to buy the highest grade you are willing to afford.
