E4norbi's Bio
I am just a relocated 50 year old New England boy, born and raised in Western Massachusetts. My collecting started in the mid to late 1960's. Like most kids, I started with folders and by the time I graduated high school I had a few albums as well.

College, women, and employment soon pushed my collecting to the bottom of life's priority list. Six kids later, it took my two youngest sons to bring my youthful exuberance of coin collecting back to life. Mostly, it was my youngest son and his fascination with the State Quarter program that re-light the fires.

After 20 years in corporate America, where I had the resources but not the time to indulge in my coin collecting, and another 9 years of teaching high school, I now have the time but only limited resources to enjoy the pleasures of the hobby. The majority of my collection is "raw" being in folders, albums, and individual holders. Slabbed coins represent a new frontier for me. It is a new beginning and a journey and adventure I am looking forward to taking.

2010 Update:

It's been about a year since my youngest son's fancy of the State Quarters got me back on the collecting path. His album of States Quarters has grown considerably and now he has a fancy for the Sacagawea Dollars. My sets have done well, too. My graded coins number a bit more than 50 now and my collecting has taken more focus. I'm actually looking forward to completing a couple of sets in the upcoming year.

2011 Update:

Closing in on two years now of collecting graded coins. My coin count is closing in on 200 and my points are looking toward the 30,000 mark. In the last year, I’ve made some real inroads to my initial sets particularly my Eisenhower dollar coins. I’ve even added some new sets to broaden the scope of my collecting. Most notable of the new sets is my $5.00 Roosevelt Dimes for Kids sets. I’m really hoping that by building an affordable set of graded dimes and giving some of them away to young collectors I can add a few young faces to our ranks. My youngest son still collects coins with me but as with any 15 year old his interest waxes and wanes as his mood sees fit.

2012 Update:

My membership hit the three year mark and to celebrate I upgraded my renewal from associate to Premium. The die is cast so I will try my hand at submitting coins to be graded. I shall see just how much I’ve learned in three years. I did manage to nickel and dime my budget minded collection up through the 60,000 point level and over the 300 coin mark. My $5.00 Dime Set for Kids did exceptionally well and I managed to open more the a few young collectors’ eyes to numismatics. The set actually morphed into a couple of FB sets and I will be changing the name of the set to honor Todd Peters who served as a great mentor and huge inspiration to me over the last few years. Thank you Todd, you will be missed. Sadly, time proved to be at an all time premium as life threw my family and me several unforeseen curveballs one after the other during the year. Subsequently, my journal entries dwindled down to a scant few. I am looking forward to ramping them back up in 2013. Fortunately, I was able seek refuge in my coins and while a bit worse for wear, I feel like I am entering the New Year with a greater breadth and a much more solid foundation in my knowledge base.
