This was only the second Ironman cover, that Adi Granov made, and WHAT a cover !
I think it´s hard to imagine, a more Iconic image and better representation of Iron Man, that this.
Less than a year later, Granov did interior- and cover art for "Iron Man Extremis #1-6 together with writer Warren Ellis.
That became his big breakthrough, so when they started up the MCU, Granov was invited onboard to make designs for the movies.
As far as I have been able to track down, the publishing order of the first covers, that Adi Granov made for MARVEL, was a follows:
February 2004: Iron Man #75 (vol. 3 1998) & Inhumans #8 (vol. 4 2003).
March 2004: Iron Man #76 (vol. 3 1998) & Silver Surfer #5 (3rd. 2003).
( On a personal note: I have NEVER understood the logic behind that first a publisher hire an artist to do a fantastic cover, and then it has to be partly ruined, by placing the horrible-looking barcode on the same cover?
Why NOT on the back instead, so it does not ruin the artwork? - Beyond me ).
