Owner's Description

STORY TITLE:

"The End of the Beginning (The Beginning of the End, Pt. 3)"

PERSONAL COMMENTS:

Holy Shnikes….This is where the love affair begins. I have been a faithful follower of this series for years afterwards and its because of what starts here in these pages that I even decided to build this set. This is where the stuff hit the fan and the X-Force was created. Oh and if this looks familiar that’s because this is a copy and paste job as this was a third printing.

PERSONAL FAVORITE LINE(S):

An X-Force? A little crude, but it's got some possibilities..- Cannonball

NOW FOR THE BORING STUFF

Published: April 1991

KEY ISSUE: For the love of all that’s holy yes this is a key book. This is where the X-Force begins.

SO HOW MANY ARE THEIR K???

A half decent amount of these currently exist. There are a grand total of 55 that have been graded with 33 obtaining that amazing 9.8 grade to include mine along with 5 that have retained there 9.8 status after being signed. Odd how the third printing has more graded copies than the second printing…

ANY PLANS FOR THIS ONE???

Of course. Plan of attack is and always will be to get this one signed by Rob Liefeld the man himself. Sending this one off to ECCC to be signed through a facilitator Doug Peters

DID YOU MEET YOUR GOAL???

Yes, this was one was signed sealed and delivered while I was still deployed to Afghanistan. Funny my wife got to appreciate this cover before I did. Currently it is only single signed by Rob Liefeld but I would like to get all three signed by Fabian the writer as well… While this may sound like the second printing that’s because the story is the same. Got this one signed at the same time as the second printing.

SO HOW DID YOU GET THIS ONE???

This one was purchased off World Wide Comics. One day it isn’t there, and the next day it is… Odd how some things come together.

MY TYPE OF SUMMARY:

The New Mutants hear battle noises in the Danger Room. They check it out and find a mysterious warrior destroying their equipment. None of them know the brutal warrior, so they attack him. It’s a hard battle but Cable eventually manages to defeat the man.

Later in the infirmary, the man introduces himself as Shatterstar, travelling back in time to enlist the X-Men's help in defeating Mojo and Spiral. The team is then attacked by Imperial Protectorates sent to kill Shatterstar however, they are all killed.

Later, Boom-Boom goes for something to eat, she finds Feral in the kitchen! The two fight as the New Mutants arrive. Feral explains that she’s being hunted by Masque and his subterranean goons, looking to start a war with the surface world which she wants no part in. The New Mutants believe her as Cable kills Brute, Masque and Hump get the point and leave.

After some rest and a shower, Cable gathers the team for a talk. Everyone agrees that they are no longer safe. Cable explains that Shatterstar, Warpath and Feral have all agreed to join the team in return for some help. He suggests they move away from the bunker, since they are no longer. After a discussion, everyone agrees and they depart.

Elsewhere, Stryfe returns to his troops, the Mutant Liberation Front, dispatching a small task force to do some damage. After that, he thinks about the coming war, which is going slower than he would like. He takes off his helmet, and is revealed to be… Cable?!
