Owner's Description

And here we are, the first full appearance of the mighty Apocalypse...

My introduction to this character came through the same medium that introduced me to pretty much all of the X-Men and their various allies and foes -- the X-Men animated series from the 1990s (airing on the local Fox affiliate in my particular corner of the US). Apocalypse was so easy to root against because he always seemed to have some grandiose scheme to carry out and was able to fend off seemingly any attack thrown at him in the process.

And it cracks me up that much later in my comic collecting journey, Apocalypse would almost become a hero of sorts to me as he restored Wolverine's adamantium skeleton (with the small caveat that he also turned our dear Mr. Logan into his Horseman of Death). In my view, it was the wrong of the Fatal Attractions storyline righted. Even though I was much younger when all this transpired, I still have mini-statues of Wolverine and Apocalypse sitting side by side on my office desk.

So...X-Men: Apocalypse...awesome, or terrible? IMHO, AWESOME. Best X-Men movie since X-Men 2, and it undid the entire travesty that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine with the very well placed Weapon X mass killing spree.

Anyway, I finally own a copy of the first full appearance of one of my favorite villains ever! I've always had one eye on obtaining a copy, and I finally chose this one for two reasons -- grade, and more importantly, signature placement. With a cover featuring this much action and so little "white space", one signature, much less three, can often prove to be a detriment rather than enhancement.

Luckily, writer Louise Simonson, cover artist Joe Rubinstein, and artist Bob McLeod all took their good time on 9/5/2014 (Baltimore Comic Con I believe) to sign this book in perfect spots.

Big thanks go out to eBay seller equilibrium-inc.
