This is my original copy of this book that I had since I first started collecting this set. It was in my competitive set until April 2025 when I replaced it with a Signature Series 9.8 signed by Roger Stern, which was the fourth book I upgraded since getting my set to all 9.8 and above and it put my set at an even 5000 registry points.
I had this Universal 9.8 reholdered in December 2020, and will obviously be keeping it in my collection and in my custom set.
This book has an erratic sales/asking history… I have seen people asking over $3K for this book, witnessed auctions end with a final price of $210.37 with 48 bids (9 bidders), and have seen it sell for BIN $249.99. I got the Signature Series 9.8 for the opening bid of $150.00 and was the only bidder, which was quite a surprise.
I really love this cover and it is my favorite of all of the Doomsday cameos… except for maybe the second printing with the white Moon!
