Within the Star Wars collection, there were not many issues defined as KEY issues. However, the issues that included Boba Fett covers (issues 42, 68 and 81) have arguably been considered KEY or at least semi-KEY issues.
Although Boba Fett is on the cover of this issue, Boba Fett was only in a two-page flashback. This issue introduced a friendly Mandalorian character known as Fenn Shysa. Fenn became a recurring character for later issues.
The Boba Fett origin provided by this issue required a lot of retroactive continuity (retcon) fixes in the years following the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The History of the Mandalorians article from the magazine Star Wars Insider 80 provided the retcon fixes for this story to work. For example - the mention / picture of Princess Leia during the Clone Wars flashback was later considered to be a mention / picture to Senator Padmé Amidala.
I fully realize that the retcons from the old Expanded Universe (Legends) were complicated sometimes. Although the new post-2014 Star Wars Canon is simpler these days, I really miss the old days and all the unique stories that it used to include.
