SUPERMAN IS BACK FOR GOOD!
This is a really cool chromium cover! I paid $70.00 on eBay for the 9.8 Universal copy of this book that helped get my competitive set to 100 percent completion. I later added this Signature Series book signed by Dan Jurgens to my collection. I had this book reholdered in December 2020.
I included pictures of both of my 9.8 copies in this slot. I did this because it's well known that there were some variations in the colors on this cover. I have also seen other copies that had areas that seemed transparent. None of these variations are recognized as errors by CGC (as far as I know), unlike the Adventures of Superman 500 Platinum Error for example, it is just known that the manufacturing was a bit inconsistent on this book. When I bought the ss 9.8 copy I honestly did not notice that the colors were so different from my Universal 9.8; it was only once I received it and placed them side by side that it became obvious. I am really happy with both copies and am pleased that I have the opportunity to display these two very different 9.8 copies together in this slot. Another great part of the history of this set and the story of these various printings.
I have left these copies together in this slot for comparison, but now that I have created a larger Custom Set, they each also have their own slots in my Custom Set.
