After this issue Todd McFarlane left Marvel and went on to form Image Comics with other superstar artists (Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, and Erik Larsen to name a few). There he created Spawn, one the most successful creator owned characters in the history of the medium. Spawn has gone on to inspire spin-offs, cartoons, a movie, and one of the most successful toy lines of all time.
