I was able to purchase this piece thanks to an early morning text from my friend Iconic1s, who sent me a link for an eBay ‘Buy It Now’ listing. I couldn't believe it was third printing of Justice League America #69! I had only woken up a few minutes prior to looking at my phone screen, one of the worst things you can do for your eyes first thing in the morning! I had to blink several times to make sure I was seeing what I was really seeing, once my vision cleared, I realized I could wait a few minutes before starting the coffee. What a great way to start the morning, with a special opportunity to get a rare book for a reasonable price. I found a 9.8 of the second printing in 2014 for less than $30. Iconic1s was the first to submit a copy of the third printing to CGC to return in 9.8, he actually submitted the first and second 9.8 copies in the census, my copy was the third to make said grade.
I had to send this book to CGC for review to correct the label. The issue title and print variant was correct but the artist and key comments were from Adventures of Superman #497. CGC did correct this free of charge, as of this writing there are now six 9.8 copies listed in the census. I’m grateful for the the early text alert, at the price the book was listed for, it wouldn’t have sat for too long on eBay. I’m also happy the label was corrected for consistency sake.
