Showcase and Brave and the Bold were such a kaleidoscope of issues that allowed DC to try different things...and if it worked a new series was born. DC had such a vault of characters from the golden age era that the had to start bringing the to the foreground (most likely so they didn't lose the rights), like Solomon Grundy. When I grew up watching the Justice League I always enjoyed when they were pitted against the Legion of Doom and for some odd reason the Frankensteinesque character always appealed to me.
