Comiclink April 2019. Well, as the first appearance of the Suicide Squad (albeit much, much different than today's iterations), this book commands a pretty penny. It does also include the first appearance of Rick Flag.
This issue has well over 200 certifications by CGC, making it far and away the most plentiful book in any certified grade of any issue from #1-25. My copy is tied with three others and trails only two other books certified at CGC 9.2.
Prices have varied on this book - a 9.2 went for $25K back in 2015, and 8.5 went for $16,700 in 2016 and other 8.5's (mine among them went in the range of $5,000-8,300.
As I alluded to earlier, this Suicide Squad is not the same as what we see today (Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Etc.), it was made up of non-powered military people - Rick Flag (the pilot), Hugh Evans (astronomer), Karin Grace (medic) and Jess Bright (physicist). They flew in a flying laboratory and took missions others couldn't handle.
Even with an entirely different complement of characters, the first appearance of the Suicide Squad is a most sought after book.
