In The Mystery of Flash's Third Identity the Flash tangles again with the Top. This copy is the lone 9.8 and the single highest graded copy of this issue. It is also special in that, as of 2020, the next highest graded book is a 9.4. While Pacific Coast is generally the #1 Silver Age Pedigree, there are mini-runs where Western Penn books surpass even the Pacific Coast examples. Flash 140/141 is another example of what makes Western Penn such a coveted Silver Age Pedigree.
This book was first offered to me by another private collector many years ago and I passed based on price and the fact that I had the Pacific Coast book. But eventually when a second chance arose to acquire the book from the person who bought it on my first opportunity, I purchased it for cash and books in a package deal, which included issues #130, #140 and #170.
