Comiclink win December 2020. This is an upgrade from a 9.4, which was an upgrade from a 9.2. There has been no absence of availability for this issue. On ComicLink alone I have bid on this book six different times in the past five years. Unfortunately, this is one of those books where I keep upgrading instead of being patient!
Hopefully, now owning one of the two 9.8's (HIGHEST GRADED ON THE CENSUS), my upgrading days on #55 are over! There are 30 copies at 9.0 or above, so it is not a problem in attaining one. Pricing doesn't seem as strong though...perhaps the Atom and Metal Men combo just doesn't entice people all that much.
There is a big difference in the desirability of this issue compared to the one that preceded it. B&B#54 (first appearance of the Teen Titans...or not, you decide) has one 9.8 that I bid $31,055 on back in the CL auction of September 2017. I still lost by almost $9K as the final price was $39,888!!!! I do hold a non-CGC certified copy of #54 at a 9.6 grade though, so even if my upgrade attempt was thwarted, I'm doing ok... really, I am.
