I have to admit... I didn't think this would happen again. Years ago, I owned a 7.0. Sold it at some point and upgraded to a beautiful 9.0. Then I sold that too... to funnel the funds into comic artwork. And besides, 1st prints were generally always around and reasonably priced (2Kish get you a 9.0). Years go by, I keep buying art not really paying any attention to the comics. Then when I'm ready to buy again, I've found that the prices have exploded... 3K for a 6.0...then 13K for a 6.0. Don't get me started on the mid and high grades. What the heck was going on?!
I'd missed the boat, that's what. And for the grade I'd really want, well, it was time to be content with my 2nd print, which I was (but really wasnt.) As much time and effort I'd spent shaping the collection and somehow I let the single most important piece get away. I'd always punched way above my weight class in my collecting years but this was likely too high a hurdle. The only chance I had, the only currency I could really use, was comic art...
And then the stars aligned. And long story short(er), I sent away a great page of comic art. And in return I received this stunning 9.2 plus cash. I couldn't be more happy, to get a copy back, at a higher grade then ever before, while still keeping all of my favorite pieces of art. Third time's a charm, folks, and this copy I plan on keeping for the long haul!
