Comic Connect auction win - September 2019.
Before I talk about this book, I have to mention #76 (which I don't currently own). A quick look by me shows that I have had 4 separate opportunities to get this book, three 9.6's and one 9.8...and nary a book was won! Who knew?
Anyway, back to #77 - there are NO 9.8's on the census to this point. A 9.6 Murphy Anderson File Copy came to auction in November 2019 - and the price ended up being almost a steal, but I was acquiring a pile of early B&B's in that auction and didn't pursue this book. I have to think there are a few ungraded 9.8s out there, so patience is the key. In the meantime, my Northland Pedigree CGC 9.4 will do just fine.
August 2021: Well, one of the three 9.6’s did come to auction at Heritage. Per my notes, it was my least sought after book of the nine I targeted in that auction. My reserve bid was placed accordingly, but I still came home with the book (not that there’s anything wrong with that). It just means my copy is tied with two others for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC Census!
