Roy Thomas had originally considered himself for the Human Torch character but deferred to give Sol Brodsky the spot as that is who Jack Kirby was more familiar with. This was the 1st Fantastic Four story fully written and credited to Jack Kirby who was the original artist of the beloved FF.
