Daredevil #163 features a CLASSIC Daredevil Vs. Hulk battle cover!
Overstreet 2023 NM- 9.2 value = $100.
According to the CGC Census Report as of Tuesday, August 22, 2023, out of a total of 466 Universal copies graded, ONLY 25 copies were graded in 9.8 with 0 copies graded higher!
With these statistics in mind, this represents an impressive rarity factor of ONLY 5.36% of the total population!

Published in March of 1980, Daredevil #163 features one of the most unique and stylistically captivating Hulk covers in all of comics! Rendered by none other than the legendary Frank Miller, he depicted a closeup image of the Hulk, but with his back faced towards the viewer and only a small portion of his chest and one of his legs showing, along with his huge forearm and semi clenched fist!
With the setting taking place in a dark, trash filled alleyway, the creative genius is how Frank Miller drew the Hulk’s frontal silhouette reflected off a tall broken mirror positioned behind an intense looking Daredevil, ready to risk his life in battle against the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe—the raging Incredible Hulk!
In turn, Daredevil also has a rugged and dark look on this cover. He is featured double gripping one of his metal pipes, clenching his teeth with blood dripping out one of his nostrils and staring fiercely towards the Hulk!
I also wonder if this classic Frank Miller cover had any influence on Todd McFarlane’s Incredible Hulk #340 cover, which was published in February of 1988—nearly 8 years later?
With all that said, Daredevil #163 is highly beloved by Daredevil, Hulk, and Frank Miller fans and collectors and is exceedingly difficult to acquire in the coveted CGC 9.8 WP grade!
In closing, I purchased this NEAR PERFECTLY WRAPPED & CENTERED copy from Mr. James Giarraputo (via Instagram) in April of 2022! I am super proud to own this immaculate copy and look forward to watching it appreciate each year!
