My first 9.8 copy of this book was a Universal that was from my original raw collection.. I replaced that book with this Signature Series 9.8 when my set was as 100 percent complete and all 9.8 or above except for one. I now show both copies in my Custom Set!
This was a cool book at the time but in hindsight it's even better. I think it was genius that Cyborg Superman hurled Doomsday off of the planet. Little did we know that Doomsday's continued existence would haunt Superman upon his return and lead us into the Superman Doomsday Hunter Prey storyline. We also didn't yet know that this Superman was actually Hank Henshaw! The eventual telling of Doomsday's origin was handled in a way that I thought was very satisfying.
I think Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman is a pretty cool creation. I had a raw copy of Hank's first appearance (Adventures of Superman 465) for years and later acquired what was the first/only 9.8 copy at the time. Interestingly, I had noticed that earlier graded copies of that book only had the note Statue of Liberty Cover and that the 1st Appearance of Hank Henshaw in Cameo was later added to the label. I'm surprised more people aren't interested in this book as he's become a villain that seems to have staying power.
I picked up the Adventures of Superman 465 on eBay for $122.22. I think it's cool to have Hank's first appearance and my hunch is that this book will get more attention as time passes. I included a picture of the book in the second image slot. I have since added Adventures of Superman 466 in CGC 9.8 to my collection as well... that is the first full appearance of Hank! I'm pretty happy to have the first cameo and the first full appearance of Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman both in CGC 9.8!
