Owner's Description

I was sitting on my couch on my day off pretty much refreshing my eBay search every few minutes when this popped up BIN for $179.99. It was a tough decision as I had one submitted that had just finished getting pressed and was turned over to CGC, meaning I'd have it back in about another month or so. I felt alright about my submission, otherwise I wouldn't have sent it in, but you can never be 100 percent sure you'll get that 9.8. I had also picked up another raw copy in the meantime that was going to be my backup submission if the other didn't come back 9.8. The backup book was absolutely beautiful and I had a lot of confidence that it would do really well if I ever sent it in.

I had previously only seen this book on eBay paired with the collector's edition, for around $350.00. I already had the collector's edition and wasn't willing to spend that much on both when I only needed this one.

Ultimately, I felt good that I either already had a 9.8 submitted, or that my backup would come through for me, so I wasn't looking for this book. Because of this, when I saw this copy I actually had to give it a little thought, about 5 minutes of thought to realize I couldn't pass up a book this awesome signed by both Dan Jurgens and Brett Breeding!

Update - my submission ended up coming back 9.6 so buying this book ended up being a good decision!

Back for Good, and this 9.8 is in this set for good!

I decided to include a picture of a couple things in the second picture slot here. First, there is The Death and Return of Superman Omnibus, as well as a few other books related to this set. Most importantly though, holding them up are the Superman Doomsday Bookends from 1996. The box said that, Destiny made one a Hero... and the other a Monster. These are made of cold-cast porcelain and my set is number 1756 of 2030 pieces. I had missed out on these when they originally came out. In the early 2000's when my Wife and I were still dating we were at the City Walk at Universal Studios Hollywood. We were just hanging out checking out the stores and so on... one of the stores was Dark Horse Comics, Things From Another World. We had seen these there along with a bunch of other cool stuff and continued our night... later she made some excuse to break away and after a bit of an absence showed back up with this big box and an even bigger grin! So happy to have these, but most of all her! She made me say that... please SEND HELP... LOL!
