Owner's Description
Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 features the the first appearance of Spidey's super-group of sinister foes, the Sinister Six, as well as guest appearances galore by other Marvel superheroes. The Sinister Six was, of course, the Vulture from Spidey #2 and #7, Doc Ock from Spidery #3, #11 and #12, the Sandman from Spidey #4, Electro from Spidey #9, Mysterio from Spidey #13, and Kraven the Hunter from Spidey #15. I guess Stan and Steve figured the Lizard and Green Goblin did not play well with others LOL. Each member of the Sinister Six expcept Kraven has already appeared in one or more Spidey films and they even made it to Broadway in Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark.
Our book is tied with four others 9.6s for second highest graded trailing five 9.8s. As such. It ranks in the top ten out of 2200 issues certified by CGC.
This issue has skyrocketed in value over the last five years. Fortunately, we caught this one on the downswing. Whether it was a momentary dip or a permanent move down in prices remains to be seen. We still paid far more than 9.6s were making in 2017, but about half what they were selling for in 2021. We acquired the book in the March 1, 2023 ComicLink Auction.
