Issue #70 features yet another Kingpin appearance. Our WP 9.8 is tied for highest graded and is honestly the nicest copy we have seen as the edges are sharp and the centering perfect, which has been a big problem with many 9.8 copies we have seen of this issue.
This one proves the rule: never chase high census books. There are 16 9.8s in the census, but for whatever reason, we spent about three years trying to acquire one to replace our 9.6 with no luck, as the books kept going for well over what we wanted to spend-or we did not like the centering of the particular book. Finally this one came up during a recent dip in prices and we got it at about 40% less than we budgeted. We acquired the book in the 3/12/2023 Heritage Auction.
