Nick Candy often drew some covers with the protagonist’s face showing extreme duress, which was certainly the case here. Issue #36 is one of the rarest books in this title in high grade, as not only is this the only 9.8, but there are no 9.6s in the census and just two 9.4s. Once again, the assigned registry points don’t do the rareness of this issue justice. My friend who owned this book purchased it in a CC Auction for just $650, but I paid a good bit more ten years later when I acquired it from him along with a large number of highest graded issues in May 2023.
