1:50 ratio cover. Alrighty then – so…I picked this up for a McNiven signing opportunity at Washington Summercon and it showed up a day late. I guess I’m just going to have to wait for another signing opportunity. For now – like the other unsigned, graded books in my run, it’s just going to have to hang out as is. Let’s take a look at this sketch cover: Sonja is up on horseback (I like horseback, it provides a number of advantages in combat) – but for some reason she’s suddenly left-handed, and her sword is in her hand as if she just completed a big backswing, right through her horse’s head. Combined with the heavy lean of the horse, and what I am guessing is loose dirt (since we can’t see the horse’s hooves) – this really doesn’t work for me. It just isn’t what a skilled horse person looks like in the saddle in combat.
