Spidey takes on the
Smuggler!
Is he a new villain? What, you don't remember him as Power Man - no... not that Power Man, the bad guy from Avengers #20! Still don't know who he is, how about Goliath? No, not the Hank Pym or Hawkyeke's other name. How about this: His name is Erik Josten and later on he was part of the 1st Thunderbolts team as Atlas! Yea... THAT GUY! :)
MCS has a nice tracking page on the character here:

This issues is also interesting because Peer finds out Aunt May is actually engaged to Nathan Lubensky! We just met him a few issues ago, Nathan isn't playing around. Go Aunt May!
BONUS - For you White Tiger fans, this issue begins a 3-issue feature in PPSSM that has a back-up story featuring Hector in his own tale. I'm not sure why this happened because after this feature there's a big change to the WT's character in #52 (if you're watching DD: Born Again you'll have a good idea what I'm talking about if you haven't read or seen the issue). Maybe it was to build him up first? Maybe it was part of what Roger Stern wanted as part of coming on to the title? Editorial decision? I'll have to look it up.
Key Comments: Smuggler appearance. White Tiger backup story by Roger Stern & Denys Cowan.
