Owner's Description

This issue is a bit of an oddball, as even though it's only the 6th issue of the title it's already mostly a reprint! The first 2 pages and the last page are all new, but the rest is Marvel Team-Up #3! I know the next 2 issues are a 2-parter also with the Human Torch and the villain here, Morbius the Living Vampire, but it seems weird to preface that story with a no-so-old one.

Al Milgrom does the cover here, and it's not his best work by far. Spidey's dimensions are all kinds of off and the Torch isn't quite right either. The composition is ok and the Torch's fire provides a great space for the cover commentary, but it's not my favorite. I'm willing to just chalk this cover up to an off day, and rather focus on the work he does later on in the the run towards the century mark.

That said, I'm happy to have it in the collection. These early Morbius covers are getting harder to come by, and especially in 9.8 because they are all dark ones! At the time of posting this: of the 4 Morbuis covers in the Bronze age (6, 7, 8, 38) this is my first. Hopefully it's not too long before my next one!
