Fresh from the pages of Bone #55, Fone, Phoney, Smiley, and Bartleby run into a little trouble on their way back to Boneville. Includes a new essay by Jeff Smith commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Bone #1 (new images of Bone artwork and the Cartoon Books crew through the years) as well as an essay by comics historian Stephen Weiner about the Bone saga (not only the thematic elements of the story but its impact on the comic book universe).
One of only two books that I’ve had personally signed and sketched by Jeff Smith. Was the first time I had ever met him and he’s as nice as everyone says he is. This appearance at the 2024 Bedrock City Comic Con occurred a year after it was first scheduled because of the heart attack Jeff suffered in August 2023. He kept his commitment the following October and was the only comic con he attended in 2024. Big thanks to MrBedrock himself, Richard Evans, for putting on such a good show and Dork Buzz for facilitating!
The book itself was bought at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con where it was first released (thanks to dscott for making the purchase). It has a bookplate attached and was numbered 139 of 500. JSA authenticated the interior signature and the sig and sketch were witnessed by the Signature Series crew.
