Owner's Description

The fact that this sketch exists is an affirmation on how the art/comic community is such a helpful place. By no means did I ever think I'd own a sketch cover from this individual. Over the years I have had people message me asking me on various fan sites about Scooby questions or letting me know about some Joe Staton piece that they had for sale.

Last November around Thanksgiving I was privately messaged on instagram. It was someone I have followed for a few years liking their sketch cover posts and they in turn have liked my Scooby posts. Out of the blue they asked if I ever had an interest in having a Floyd Norman sketch cover. Many thoughts went through my brain. I had seen plenty of Floyd Norman pieces on their account so I wasn't worried too much about being led astray. Floyd started his career at Disney in the 1950's working on Sleeping Beauty and has worked on quite a few Disney movies scanning the decades. He also worked on a Scooby cartoon movie in the 1970's Scooby Doo Goes Hollywood. So naturally, he would be on my Scooby list.

I had shared that I'd love a Floyd but I honestly thought it would be outside my price range remembering the ONE time he was at a convention and the price he was asking at the show was well past my comfort level. They asked me what my top price was and I shared how much my maximum was and stated that price usually also  included CGC grading. To my shock they replied back that they were friends of Floyd and in a few months they would be seeing him again with a few sketch requests. He assured me that it would be CGC graded, fast tracked, and shipped to me all for my maximum price. He shared that he'd wonder what Floyd's version of Scooby would be and I shared that he worked on Scooby Doo Goes Hollywood so I sent a reference from a still of the movie. Months later at 89 years young, he copied it to the T.
