Issue #97 is the first of three solo try-outs for Power Girl, who is also known as Kara Zor-L, Karen Starr, and Paige Stetler. is another super powered individual from Krypton who made her first appearance in All Star Comics #58 (January/February 1976). She is the cousin of Superman, but from an alternate universe in the multiverse. She originally landed on Earth-Two, which was first envisioned as the home of DC's wartime heroes in the 1940s. Power Girl becomes stranded in the main universe where DC stories are set, and becomes acquainted with Superman and her own counterpart, Supergirl.
As could be expected fro, a book from 1978, high grade examples of this issue are common with 84 9.8s topping the census. We acquired ours from the 7/8/2025 Heritage Auction.
