Only a hand full of titles in comics' history have reached 500 issues. Action Comics reached this milestone in 1979 - the first or one of the first titles to do so.
This very special issue was at the top of my want list ever since I was 12. Supergirl and Lois Lane look hot against a background of classic Action Comics covers!
The top row of covers are issues #44, #295, and #1. The second row is almost unidentifiable with the exception of the third cover on the right, which shows just enough to be identified as #23 (first appearance of Lex Luthor). The third row consists of covers #426, #484 and #285. If you look closely you can see the cover of Action Comics #1 twice.
I like seeing covers #400 (on back cover) and #484 on this anniversary cover, because I also have them in my collection! This issue either comes with a truncated DC logo or a UPC box, both are never complete, I'll take the truncated UPC box any day for this issue.
